o Deann has over 22 years of experience working in a variety of settings with children and adolescents.
o Extensive education and training in Grief counseling.
o Deann contributed to the development of a summer camp focused on supporting children and adolescents coping with grief providing services for approximately eight summers.
o Extensive education and training focused on utilizing therapeutic play techniques to facilitate treatment and counseling with young children.
o Formerly trained in TF-CBT (Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavior Therapy)
o Previously certified as a Parent Educator through South Carolina’s Parents as Teachers program (PAT), which equips parents with the knowledge and skills to support their child’s development.
o Formerly trained in the Back in Control program (BAC) to help parents implement effective strategies for managing challenging behaviors in children.
Deann has a passion for working with young children in a therapeutic setting, consistently seeking creative ways to engage them in the healing process. Personable and energetic, she incorporates play into therapy to create a safe, non-threatening environment where children can express themselves and develop problem-solving skills.
